Coahoma Kicks off Summer Football Camp June 25-26
CLARKSDALE – When Coahoma Community College kicks off its annual Summer Football Camp June 25-26, 150 to 200 young athletes are expected to participate and have fun, according to Coach Kendrick Travis.
“We have delivered registration forms to more schools than ever, and we urge students to sign up today,” says Travis, CCC’s offensive coordinator.
Registration deadline is Tuesday, June 18.
The two-day event runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day in James Miller Stadium, 3240 Friars Point Road; the cost is $20 per athlete.
Eligible will be students from grades one to 12th grade, and players are asked to circle and identify their positions: quarterback, defensive back, offensive line, linebacker, wide receiver, defensive line, running back, and punter/kicker.
Included will be opportunities to play with emphasis on sportsmanship, techniques, fundamentals, training, learning rules of the game, meals and t-shirts for both days.
Students are requested to return application forms and fees either to Coach Travis at the Field House (662-621-8554) or to Carol Brooks, athletic secretary, at the Pinnacle (662-621-4223).
