This is a one semester (16 week) certificate program designed to prepare students for employment as an Emergency Medical Technologist in a medical transport facility or agency. Students who apply for the Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) Program must meet the following requirements:

1. Completed application
2. Official copy of high school transcript or Official GED passing scores
3. Test for Adult Basic Education Test (TABE) scores with a minimum of 10 in Math and Reading
4. Copy of Drivers License
5. Social Security Card
6. Copy of Immunization Record showing
1. MMR
2. Hepatitis B series (can be completed after entry to program)
3. Varicella or chicken pox shot or titers (can be completed after entry to program)
4. 2-step TB skin test

*Criminal Background and Drug Screen will be required upon admission

The EMT-Refresher is designed to meet the needs of EMT-Basics in all settings and all skill levels required for recertification.  Upon completion, the participant will be issued a Certificate of Completion.

Students who apply for the Emergency Medical Technician Refresher course must meet the following requirements.

• Be eligible for employment as an EMT
