Required Education: Associate degree, preferably a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice Administration/Public Administration or a directly related field

Two year college degree required, four year college degree preferred
Five years of experience in Law Enforcement, preferably School Security
Knowledge of security measures, crisis management, and current laws and regulations governing search and seizure activities, and understanding of the criminal justice system
Knowledge of laws governing K-12 school system
Able to implement a safety and crisis management plan for high school and college
SRO (School Resource Officer)
Certified Volunteer Firefighter
Able to work efficiently with other law enforcement agencies and other departments in Coahoma County
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to get along with diverse personalities
Must possess tact, maturity and good reasoning abilities

The Director of Campus Safety will manage and direct all aspects of security services with primary emphasis on students, faculty and staff
Duties: Develops weekly schedules for security personnel

Reviews all incident reports involving violation of college security regulations

Recommends potential officers and potential safety personnel to the VP of Student Affairs and Support Services for employment

Collaborates with the Director of Physical Plant to evaluate the college compliance with OSHA safety standards

Develops plans for complying with local and national safety regulations

Evaluates the work of all persons supervised at least annually and recommends continuance or discontinuance

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by Vice President of Student Affairs and Support Services
