ABE Instructor - Marks (Part Time)

Position Title:     Part-time Adult Education Instructor

Immediate Supervisor’s Title:     Director of Adult Education

Position Supervised:     None

Term of Position:     12 Months

Minimum Requirements:     Bachelor’s Degree

Primary Location:     Madison Palmer High School Vo-Tech Bldg.

                                            Marks, MS (Evening Class)

Position Description:     Prepare students to take their High School Equivalency Exam and to transition into higher education, workforce training, or a career.                   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • All instructors are required to attend the New Teacher’s Academy to obtain certification.
  • All instructors are also required to take the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education)
  • Maintain an active enrollment of 10-15 students  
  • Maintain student folders and other pertinent records;
  • Must pre-test and post-test students as required by state guidelines
  • Provide monthly reports/personal attendance by the 4th of each month; time sheets by the 15th of each month; and lesson plans every Friday
  • Incorporate explicit instruction in your daily lessons
  • Attend State and Local professional development
  • Monitor the AE reporting management system
  • Develop individualized educational plans for each student
  • Follow all guidelines and policies set by the Coahoma Community College AE Program and the State AE office of the Mississippi Community College Board
  • Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the Director of Adult Education
