Dr. Vivian Presley, president of Coahoma Community College, introduces her successor, Dr. Valmadge Towner to the CCC Administrative Board Friday in the Vivian M. Presley Administrative Building.

CLARKSDALE – The historic first meeting of Dr. Valmadge Towner and Dr. Vivian M. Presley, with Coahoma Community College’s Administrative Board took place Friday with a shared exchange to keep the college moving forward in a positive direction.

Dr. Towner is the incoming fifth president of Coahoma and will succeed Dr. Presley who is retiring June 30.

“I love Coahoma; you do as well, and I am here to partner with you,” said Dr. Towner, who is a CCC alumnus and a former member of the Board of Trustees.

“Continuity is important in this transition time,” he said. “I look forward to working with you.”

The incoming president sat in on the regular monthly meeting of CCC administrators giving departmental reports and projections of events including graduation, summer school, and preparations for the fall semester.
