Community College Week Lists CCC in Top 100

In its annual report based on data collected from the US Department of Education, Community College Week has listed Coahoma Community College at No. 76 among the Top 100 degree and certificate-producing, two-year institutions in the nation for African Americans.

The ranking is CCC’s highest since 2008 (No. 74) and 2009 (No. 75). Coahoma has been ranked in this category since 2005.

Community College Week is a bi-weekly, independent publication that has been produced since 1988 that includes analyses of critical academic trends and issues, vital statistics, technology updates and employment opportunities.

Coahoma Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate of Arts degree, the Associate of Applied Science degree, and certificates in career education.

CCC’s Division of Academic Affairs offers 55 university-parallel degree programs designed to meet the needs of students who plan to transfer to four-year institutions of higher learning to pursue a baccalaureate or professional degree.

Coahoma’s Division of Career and Technical Education offers 16 programs designed to meet the needs of students in industries. Students completing these programs will be awarded the Associate of Applied Science degree, a Technical Certificate or a Career Certificate.

Coahoma Community College’s Division of Health Sciences offers Associate of Applied Science degrees in Nursing, Paramedic, Polysomnography and Respiratory Care, as well as certificate programs for Practical Nursing, Phlebotomy and EKG Technicians, Emergency Medical Technicians and Nursing Assistants.
