William Ross Bradley Sr., age 83, of Clarksdale, Ms died on October 2, 2013. His parents, Ross Everett Bradley and Tommie Hodge-Bradley, predeceased him. Mr. Bradley is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathryn Huston Bradley, his son, William R. Bradley Jr. (Beth), his daughter, Carla Bradley Wortham (Stewart) and three granddaughters: Kate Bradley, Whitney Wortham and Maggie Bradley. He was also survived by his sister, Betty Claire Douglas, and his nieces and great nieces and nephew.
Mr. Bradley was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army Counterintelligence Corp during the Korean War. He attended Delta State University and graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Mr. Bradley became a member of the Mississippi Bar Association in 1951 and was honored by that Association in 2011 for sixty years of service. Mr. Bradley was still practicing law at the time of his death.
Active as a community and civic leader, Mr. Bradley attended the First United Methodist Church of Clarksdale where he held various leadership roles. He served as president of the Clarksdale Rotary club and was honored by the Rotarians as a Paul Harris Fellow. Mr. Bradley also served as president of the following organizations: the Coahoma County Industrial Foundation; the Clarksdale, Mississippi Chamber of Commerce; the Coahoma County Bar Association; and the Clarksdale Country Club. He served as attorney for the Coahoma County School Board and Coahoma Community College for many years.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 4, 2013 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church followed by the funeral service at 11:00. A private burial will precede the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to First United Methodist Church of Clarksdale, Box 1303 Clarksdale, Ms 38614 the Care Station, P.O. Box 4010, Clarksdale, Ms or a charity of the donorís choice.
