CCC Plays Nationally-Ranked Hinds Eagles Thursday

CLARKSDALE – The Coahoma Tigers have a Thursday night date in Raymond this week with the nationally ranked Hinds Community College Eagles who defeated Mississippi Delta 42-21 in an impressive ground game Saturday.

Despite the close contest until halftime with Hinds leading 18-13, the Eagles returned to amass a total of 333 yards on the ground and 397 total offense to Delta’s 281 total offense with 179 rushing and 102 passing.

Multiple turnovers were costly for Coahoma who lost the season opener before hometown fans 64-14.

Tiger quarterback Quantevious Peterson of Shelby led CCC ‘s offense in the first half, and Roderick McKee of Lake Cormorant took over in the second half.

Coahoma travels to Northwest Thursday, Sept. 13, and to Pearl River Thursday, Sept. 20, before returning home Thursday, Sept. 27, against East Mississippi, preseason Number One, who defeated Pearl River 35-15 over the weekend.
