Tigers Play 10th Ranked Northwest Thursday in Senatobia
CLARKSDALE – In its third consecutive battle with a nationally-ranked team, the Coahoma Community College Tigers travel to Senatobia Thursday to play the 10th ranked Northwest Rangers.
The Rangers will be playing their first home game after defeating Copiah-Lincoln 42-21 in Wesson last week. Their first game with Southwest was cancelled because of Hurricane Isaac.
The Tigers are 0 -2 following a loss at home to 4th ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast August 30 and a 41-13 loss to 6th ranked Hinds in Raymond Sept. 6.
According to the National Football, five Mississippi JUCO teams are ranked in America’s Top 20 teams: East Mississippi, 1st; Mississippi Gulf Coast, 4th; Hinds, 6th; Northwest, 10th; and Itawamba, 20th place.
Although the first quarter was scoreless, Northwest scored 28 points in the second quarter against Co-Lin and forced five turnovers (four intercepted passes and one fumble).
Thursday’s game kicks off at 6:30 p.m., and will be broadcast on WNEV Radio at 98.7.
