Public Relations Department Welcomes New Assistant Director
CLARKSDALE — Coahoma Community College’s Department of Public Relations has welcomed a new face onto campus with Brittany Davis joining the staff as the Assistant Director of Public Relations.
Davis came to CCC on Jan. 6 from The Enterprise-Tocsin newspaper in Indianola where she served as staff reporter since April 2012.
She brings a wealth of experience in media and public relations, having previously worked as a Public Relations Assistant for the Bologna Performing Arts Center in Cleveland and completing internships at WABG and WXVT, both in Greenville.
“I’m really excited to have someone with Brittany’s character and intelligence,” said Director of Public Relations Matt Killebrew. “She will definitely help the department as we try and relate the many wonderful things happening at Coahoma to those around us.”
Davis said she's excited to use her broad journalism background to highlight the many positive aspects of CCC.
“Coahoma Community College is truly a treasure for Clarksdale and the surrounding areas, as well as the entire Mississippi Delta. I am honored to be afforded the opportunity to highlight the countless possibilities CCC offers its students and showcasing the positive impact the college is making in the community,” she said.
“The faculty and staff here have been very warm and welcoming. I’m looking forward to building a great working relationship with my colleagues.”
A native of Indianola, Davis is a graduate of Delta State University (DSU), where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism with a minor in Communications.
She is currently pursuing a Master of Liberal Studies Degree with concentrations in Mississippi Delta Studies and Gender and Diversity Studies at DSU and will be completed in May 2014.
Davis currently resides in Cleveland.
