DECATUR, MS — Coahoma Community College sophomore Xavier Graves scored 11 points during Friday night’s Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-Star festivities played at East Central Community College.

Graves’ north squad lost an exciting contest, 121-117, game that was fast-paced and exciting from the outset. The crowd at ECCC’s Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building enjoyed the run-n-gun, up-tempo style of play and both coaches and players alike seemed to have a fun night.

Southwest’s Twymond Howard and Gulf Coast’s Chris Bilbro each scored a game-high 20 points with Howard being named the game’s MVP.

Mississippi Delta Community College's Ashanti Spencer scored 13 points to earn MVP honors in the North All-Stars' 81-69 win over the South All-Stars in the opening game of the evening.

Coahoma Community College’s Krystal Pearson represented the Lady Tigers at the game, but the guard known more for her ball-handling more than her shooting, did not record any points.

The Pearl River Resort, JUCO Weekly, Judge Little and East Central Community College serve as sponsors of the 2014 MACJC All-Star Basketball Games.
