CCC Closes the book on 2012 at 1-8
GOODMAN – Sophomore Jacorie Ousley’s 86-yard touchdown on the opening kickoff set the tempo for Holmes Community College as the Bulldogs rolled to a 49-3 victory over the Coahoma Community College Tigers in the season finale here Thursday night.
The victory enabled Holmes to close out its season with a 5-4 record after a dismal 2-7 campaign in 2011. CCC closed the book on 2012 at 1-8. Its lone victory came at Pearl River Community College when the Tigers played their most complete game of the season with a 34-24 win.
“It was our first winning season in a long time,” said Steve Diffey, HCC’s sports information director. Diffey said HCC’s last state championship came in 2002.
Ousley scored his second touchdown on a 19-yard run with 12:13 left in the first period. He scored a third touchdown in the second half.

Holmes got its fifth touchdown of the half largely due to Jeffrey Nason’s block of an O’Hara punt. Willie Sherman picked up the loose ball at the CCC 10 and took it in for the score with seven seconds left on the clock. Lloyd closed out the first half scoring with his conversion running the HCC lead to 35-3.
