CCC Halloween Party Celebrates New Levels
CLARKSDALE – When Coahoma Community College’s cosmetology and early childhood programs joined forces to host a Halloween party for youngsters, the celebration took trick and treating to new levels.
Not only did New Covenant Child Care kiddies and St. Elizabeth School kindergarten students receive candy and goodies, they also were treated to a lively reading of “Hello, Bumbleebat,” by CCC instructor Tolernisa Butler, face and nail painting by Shirley Hicks’ cosmetology students.
Wearing togas they designed, the cosmetology students offered guests a wide selection of nail colors with hot pink and purple being favorites.
With CCC instructors Theresa Taylor, Butler, and Hicks planning the event, parents and teachers also joined the fun.
The New Covenant students including many 3-year-olds in costume arrived early before older 5 and 6-year-olds from St. Elizabeth ‘s School.
