CCC Marching Tiger Band takes 1st place in Greenville Christmas Parade Coahoma Community College’s Marching Tiger Band wins 1st place honors in the recent Greenville Christmas Parade’s college band division that included bands from Mississippi Valley State University (second place), Alcorn State University, Delta State University, and Mississippi Delta Community College. ‘The Christmas Parade was the biggest and best in more than 50 years, with bystanders commenting on the overwhelming community spirit, ‘ says Sarah Kramer of Greenville’s Delta Democrat Times daily newspaper. Participating in the parade were 15 bands, 17 floats, and numerous local businesses. ‘I am extremely proud of the band,’ says CCC director James McLeod. ‘Their time and dedication shows in each performance.’ The CCC Band schedule has also included parade performances in Jonestown, Holly Grove, Ark., and West Helena, Ark. The band is pictured (above) in Clarksdale’s 2011 Christmas Parade.
