Preparing for African Children's Choir Concert

Bob Canon of Sardis, coordinator for the internationally-renowned African Children’s Choir performance in Clarksdale Friday, Jan. 18 at the Civic Auditorium, and Yvonne Stanford, chairman of Coahoma Community College’s Lyceum program presenting the group with the Mississippi Festival, organize flyers, posters, and publicity for the event. Also supporting the free concert are the National Endowment for the Arts, the Mississippi Arts Commission, Entergy, C-Spire, the Community Foundation for Northwest Mississippi, and the State Department of Education. The choir is performing a free 1 p.m. matinee performance for hundreds of school children from Clarksdale, Sardis, Batesville, Marks, Charleston, and Webb, and a free evening concert at 7 p.m.
