Phi Theta Kappa

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.

Alpha Omicron Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa requirements are:

  1. Must be currently enrolled with at least fifteen (15) semester hours at Coahoma. (excluding any developmental courses)
  2. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  3. Membership and participation in college and community affairs.
  4. Leadership potential.
  5. Unblemished conduct and character.
  6. Must have established academic excellence as judged by the faculty.
